INTRODUCTION TO SEI AUGMENTED (EDU280 (UG08))

Emphasis on understanding English Language Learners (ELL) in the K-12 classroom. Included is coverage of the history, culture, theory, methods, and an introduction to both the English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards and the Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA). Prerequisite: Eligible for provisional or emergency teacher certification through the AZ Department of Education (with this course completed) or Departmental approval. Three lecture.
